Two years have passed since 2014 Filmmaker of the Year Dan Gilroy delivered his exceptional Jake Gyllenhaal-starring thriller Nightcrawler. That’s a lifetime for those of us on the Internet and, to be honest, that’s not too far off for Hollywood standards. But give the guy a break; after all, he’s been busy carving out an original story called Inner City, and based on the A-list power he’s attracting, it’s paid off.
Fences star and director, not to mention this past week’s SAG Award winner, Denzel Washington is set to headline the project as a veteran legal researcher who’s scooped up by a high profile Los Angeles law firm with one life-changing case waiting for him. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Colin Farrell may join in on the fun as the sleaze-ball lawyer who hired him. A little Denzel vs. Colin, anyone?
We’ll soon find out as shooting on the $30-million dollar film is set to begin come March. In the meantime, revisit this clip below and remember why Gilroy is one of Hollywood’s most promising filmmakers right now…
