Meatbodies get tangled up in some fuzzy “Haunted History” on new song — listen

ALICE is the forthcoming LP from Meatbodies, expected to hit shelves next month via In the Red Recordings. The follow-up to their 2014 self-titled album is described as a concept piece, but one that’s not exactly easy to pin down.

Alice is an idea, a feeling, covered in pink lace,” reads a press release. “Alice is a message, a hidden commentary of modern day, bathed in fantasy, abounding in ecstasy, feeling colors.”

Though the album might be a little tough to grasp thematically, those “feeling colors” come through loud and clear on the Bay Area garage rockers’ latest single “Haunted History”. Like the material of Ty Segall’s Fuzz outfit (of which Meatbodies’ Chad Ubovich is a member), it’s a sizzling, sidewinder of a cut drenched in psychedelic swirls of yellow, orange, pink, and red.
