Shia LaBeouf arrested after scratching Trump supporter/neo-Nazi in the face

The incident occurred during the actor's 24-hour live-stream protest

Shia LaBeouf has been arrested and charged with misdemeanor assault after getting into an altercation with a supporter of President Donald Trump/neo-Nazi.

The incident allegedly occurred outside of the Museum of the Moving Image in Queens, New York, where LaBeouf recently set up an installation protesting Trump’s presidency. As part of the installation, LaBeouf has invited the public to chant “He Will Not Divide Us” directly into a web cam, which will be streaming live for the entirety of Trump’s term. Several Trump supporters responded by launching a counter protest of sorts, placing “Make America Great Again” signs in front of the camera and chanting pro-Trump slogans.

The notoriously quick-tempered LaBeouf has already been caught on camera confronting several of these counter protestors. Early this morning, however, things got physical as the actor allegedly pulled on a man’s scarf, scratching his face while doing so, according to CNN. He was arrested by NYPD officers, charged with misdemeanor assault, and released.

Update: As some readers point out, the alleged victim neo-Nazi appeared to provoke LaBeouf by saying, “Hitler did nothing wrong.” Watch video of the altercation as well as LaBeouf’s subsequent arrest below.
