Sleater-Kinney and The National cover “Fortunate Son” at Women’s March afterparty — watch

The poignant performance also featured Dirty Projectors’ Dave Longstreth and Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards providing backup vocals

    Following yesterday’s huge Women’s March on Washington, Planned Parented hosted an afterparty at the 9:30 Club. The event featured performances from The National and Sleater-Kinney, along with comedians Tig NotaroJaneane Garofalo, and Cameron Esposito. All proceeds benefited Planned Parenthood and more than $100,000 was raised through ticket sales alone.

    During their own set, Sleater-Kinney led a poignant cover of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Fortunate Son” with The National’s Matt Berninger, Dirty Projectors’ Dave Longstreth, and Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards all providing backup vocals. Watch video below.
