The Decemberists have announced new US spring tour dates leading up to their three-night residency at Brooklyn Steel, New York’s newest music venue. Dubbed “The Shuffling Off to Ragnarök,” the jaunt kicks off the first week of April and includes stops in Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Nashville, and Philadelphia.

“I don’t know about you, but it seems to us at Decemberists HQ that this winter has been — shall we say — a bit darker than winters of recent memory,” the band writes in a press release. “Not sure what to attribute that to. However, in an effort to puncture that gloom, if only in a few places on and adjacent to the Eastern Seaboard, The Decemberists are pleased to announce The Shuffling Off to Ragnarök Spring Tour 2017.” CoSigned singer-songwriter Julien Baker will serve as the opening act.

Colin Meloy & co. will perform material from across their catalog, including their most recent album, 2015’s What A Terrible World, What a Beautiful World. Perhaps most importantly, The Decemberists note their setlists will feature a “bunch of new songs — trying them on like new clothes, seeing how they fit. You, dear concert-goer, will be our mirror.”
