Might they be working on Queens of the Stone Age's new album?

As we learned this evening, Dave Grohl will not be performing at next weekend’s Grammy Awards alongside A Tribe Called Quest and Anderson .Paak. He may have a good excuse though: As Alternative Nation points out, Grohl recently hit the studio with Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme. Eagles of Death Metal’s Jesse Hughes posted a photo of the trio to his Instagram page, but later deleted it.

What Grohl and Homme were up to is anyone’s guess. As previously reported, Homme’s Queens of the Stone Age are hard at work on new studio album, and Grohl has a long collaborative history with the band. Foo Fighters, too, are recording a new album. Grohl and Homme also are bandmates in Them Crooked Vultures alongside Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones. Or, maybe they were just two buds hanging out, chatting about clown penis Donald Trump.

Below, watch Queens of the Stone Age tear through “Song For the Dead” featuring Grohl on drums.
