The 91st Academy Awards lacked a host, but hardly had any vacancy in style.
Between Spike Lee channeling The Purple One to Billy Porter’s jaw-dropping gown, the red carpet leading into the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California was littered with some of the snazziest and sharpest getups throughout the entire 2019 awards season.
Aquaman’s Jason Momoa brought some salmon from the sea. Eighth Grade’s Elsie Fisher found her inner Margot Tenenbaum. The Favourite star Olivia Colman kept things decidedly decadent. And for Christ’s sake, Glenn Close dressed as an Oscar!
