A man died Friday after falling off a balcony at New York’s Citi Field during a Dead and Company concert. Update – August 23rd: Liquor company CEO Ian Matthew Crystal has been identified by police as the man who fell to his death.
The New York Post reports that the 46-year-old Brooklyn resident allegedly took acid before the fatal fall, in addition to drinking and smoking pot.
According to his LinkedIn page, Crystal co-founded the New York-based Evolution Spirits. The company’s flagship product is Monkey Rum, which was created as part of a 2014 National Geographic brand development challenge.
A police source told the New York Daily News that Crystal “attempted a body flip, fell, and landed on the balcony below.” After falling the equivalent of two stories, he was taken to New York-Presbyterian Queens Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
