Machine Gun Kelly was bombarded with bottles and tree branches as he flipped off the crowd during his set at the Aftershock Festival on Saturday (October 9th) in Sacramento, California.

The rapper-turned-punker again faced the wrath of angry rock and metal fans, who apparently are either upset over his recent feud with Slipknot or just don’t like his music. When he stepped onstage for his performance at Aftershock, there was a noticeably mixed reaction from the crowd.

The front rows cheered on MGK, but the audience in the back rained down boos. During the set he was bombarded with bottles, tree branches, and various liquids as he climbed on top of a tent in the middle of the crowd.

“How the f**k you feelin’ Aftershock?” MGK said at the beginning of the set. “Mixed opinions. I love you so much. This morning I was like, ‘Do we get on the plane and go to this?’ I was sitting there thinking about the last festival we did where this 10-year-old got her poster ripped up just for liking me. I’m doing this show for her and everyone who came to see us.”

If you aren’t familiar with the ongoing beef, it all started when Slipknot’s Corey Taylor indirectly dissed Machine Gun Kelly during an interview earlier this year. MGK held his tongue until both acts were performing at Riot Fest, when MGK disparaged Taylor and company from the stage, saying, “You all want to know what I’m happy that I’m not doing?” MGK asked the audience. “Being 50 years old wearing a f**king weird mask on the f**king stage.”

It then spilled over to Twitter, where both Machine Gun Kelly and Taylor squabbled over a planned guest spot that the Slipknot singer was supposed to make on MGK’s Tickets to My Downfall album.

The remarks incited Slipknot’s legion of fans, who’ve since hounded MGK at his various festival appearances. At the predominantly metal-centric Louder Than Life in Louisville, the singer even threw a punch at a festival-goer who jumped the barrier and charged at him.
