The members of Laundry Day may have just graduated high school in 2020, but their confidence suggests they’ve been doing this for years. Fully formed and ready to conquer the world, the NYC-based five-piece has arrived today (February 11th) with their major label debut album, We Switched Bodies.
Laundry Day seem to operate in any genre they can, switching seamlessly between hip-hop verses, boy band choruses, R&B crooning and high energy indie rock. We Switched Bodies is an ambitious mixture of their influences, but they pull it off like pros.
Not only have Laundry Day cut their teeth playing in some classic New York City venues and opening for The 1975 and Clairo, they’ve got friends, too: BROCKHAMPTON leader Kevin Abstract and producer Romil Hemnani worked on lead single “Did You Sleep Last Night,” and veteran rock producer Brendan O’Brien stepped in for a few tracks as well.
The band, which is comprised of Sawyer Nunes, Jude Ciulla, Etai Abramovich, Henry Weingartner, and Henry Pearl, puts a great deal of heart and consideration into each of the tracks on We Switched Bodies, and it’s safe to say that those risks paid off.
