Alvvays have unveiled “Easy on Your Own?,” another look at their upcoming album Blue Rev. Check it out below.
Blue Rev is gearing up to be a pretty loud Alvvays record: Like “Pharmacist” before it, “Easy on Your Own?” sees the Canadian band go more heavy shoegaze than dream pop with a feedback intro and a wall of guitars. Singer Molly Rankin even approaches a yell as she works through a breakup. “I waited so long for you/ Wasted some of the best years of my life,” she sighs, before hollering, “Does it get easier on your own?”
Alvvays released their sophomore album, Antisocialites, in 2017. Five years, lineup changes, stolen demos, and flood-damaged equipment later, they’ll follow it up with Blue Rev on October 7th, and pre-orders are ongoing
Later this month, the band will perform at the Chicago stop of Courtney Barnett’s traveling Here and There Festival. Then, come October, they’ll head out on a tour with Slow Pulp. Tickets to all of their shows are on sale now via Ticketmaster.
