Tiny Fonts is a recurring feature in which our staff handpick the must-see smaller acts at all the major festivals.

The American takeover has begun: Primavera Sound, one of Europe’s most esteemed and curated festivals, is moving to Los Angeles this year for the first ever edition of Primavera Sound LA. Taking place from September 16th-18th, Primavera Sound LA is bringing dozens of high profile acts to the west coast, including its outstanding trio of headliners: Arctic Monkeys, Lorde, and Nine Inch Nails.

Beyond the top lines, which also include performances from Stereolab, Mitski, Clairo, James Blake, Khruangbin, Fontaines D.C., and King Krule, Primavera Sound LA is a deep lineup all the way through the bottom lines. The festival is certainly boasting a substantial electronic music lineup; several DJs and producer collaborations are featured, including Darkside, Bicep, Octo Octa, Danny L Harle, and Helena Hauff.

Another unique offering is their emphasis on Mexican and Spanish-language talent like Little Jesus, Divino Niño, and Paloma Mami — after all, Los Angeles does have a significant latino population, and Primavera Sound’s origins are in Barcelona.

But like every major festival, there’s so much to discover, and so many unique genres of music represented at Primavera Sound. Check out our list of five acts to see in the tiny fonts of Primavera Sound LA’s lineup below, and check back at Consequence during the fest, as we’ll be on the ground all weekend.
