Henry Hauser


Henry’s passion for music criticism sprouted from his undergrad thesis “Fragments of Revolt: Populist and Radicalism and Vanguard Modernism in the Music of Elvis and Dylan.” From there, he went on to cover artists such as The Walkmen, Devendra Banhart, and The Decembrists for The Cornell Daily Sun. While attending grad school at Berkeley, Henry wrote for The Grateful Web and Beats Per Minute, where he interviewed Vetiver, Fruit Bats, and Delta Spirit. Henry has reported from festivals on both coasts, including the Coachella, Newport Folk Festival, Outside Lands, and Bumbershoot. His writing influences include Greil Marcus and Jefferson Cowie. Henry is now based in the Haight-Ashbury district of San Francisco, and travels to Seattle most weekends. Henry's column, 2-4 Tuesday, appears biweekly on Consequence of Sound.
