Rock the Garden 2017

Launched by the Walker in 1998, Rock the Garden has been co-sponsored by The Current since 2008. Eleven concerts have been staged outside the Walker since the inaugural event featuring the Jayhawks. Rock the Garden features national and international artists paired with the best in local music. Past performers have included Stereolab, Sonic Youth, Wilco, Antibalas, David Byrne, The Decemberists, Sharon Jones, Doomtree, Bob Mould, Trampled by Turtles, De La Soul, Babes in Toyland, Chance the Rapper and many more. In 2016 the sold-out event moved to Boom Island due to construction at the Walker and Minneapolis Sculpture Garden.
