While the pandemic has forced Mötley Crüe to postpone their highly anticipated reunion tour until 2021, drummer Tommy Lee is offering up some new music this year in the form of a solo album, ANDRO.

The veteran rocker recently announced the new album, unveiling two singles from the LP: the industrial-flavored “Knock Me Down” featuring Killvein, and the Afrobeat-tinged “Tops” featuring Push Push.

Right as he was getting set to release the songs, Lee checked in with Heavy Consequence via Zoom to discuss the album, the two singles, his popular TikTok channel, his thoughts on President Trump’s recent beef with Twitter, and more.

“Over these last two years I’ve put together a record of a crazy bunch of ideas that turned into amazing songs that are now ANDRO,” Lee told us. “I ended up with 5 or 6 female-energy tracks, and 5 or 6 male-energy tracks … depending on what kind of mood you’re in … it’s got it’s own side — and I’m speaking LP style.”

As far as his TikTok channel, where he has nearly 600,000 followers and over 6 million views as of this posting, Lee said, “I can’t take full credit. My wife [Brittany] has been in that world for a while … I’m having a blast doing it.”

Regarding Trump’s recent spat with Twitter, which started flagging the president’s tweets as questionable content, Lee said, “Here’s a guy who’s always getting fact-checked, ’cause his shit’s always f**kin’ wrong. I don’t understand why he’s tripping on Twitter for fact-checking.”

ANDRO arrives October 16th, and can be pre-ordered here. A special autographed pink and blue vinyl edition and other bundles are available at Tommy Lee’s online merch store.
